1880s German Blown Glass Pine Cone Ornament Antique Hand Painted Annealed Loop

Very early rare antique German blown glass ornament, a nicely molded pine cone with an annealed hanging loop! Circa 1880s. These annealed loop ornaments are so hard to find. It is unique with 18 rows of deeply molded pine cone scales that wrap around the form. Several lacquer colors were hand painted in streaks of yellow, dark gold, brown, and black. (This is not oxidation that shows as black.) The overlapping multiple colors is quite unusual and very striking. The top features a very rare annealed glass hanging loop that is expertly attached to the pine cone. These annealed loops pre-date the early German metal conical dome caps of the late 1800s, and of course the modern spring cap. Wow! It measures 2.75 inches tall to the top of the loop and is in excellent antique condition free of chips, cracks, or wear. Amazing condition, especially for its very old age!
